Joey Taranto's Bio
Joey is beyond excited to be playing with Ellyn on stage again. Wait, that sounded...
you know what? Never mind. After years of working together on Broadway, the two decided
they weren’t quite done bothering the general public — and thus, I Think Not was born.
Together, they’ve lovingly cultivated their own brand of “stupid” and deeply enjoy squawking into your ears.
Cue the dramatic credits scroll: Joey made his Broadway debut in Rock of Ages, followed by
the original companies of Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark (yes, that one) and Kinky Boots.
There are more theater credits, but you get the idea — there were sequins, there were high notes, there were lots of wigs.
Joey is also thrilled to be attached to Cyndi Lauper's brand-new Broadway musical, Working Girl, which will premiere its first performances at La Jolla Playhouse in fall of 2025.
He’d love nothing more than to see you there — and hug your neck, of course.
Now, did you know that Joey also bamboozled his way into TV and film? He did!
He’s appeared in BROS, Chrissy Judy (an official selection of OutFest 2022), and
Jesus Christ Superstar Live on NBC. Oh — and in a true plot twist, he once played a cop on Blue Bloods, which... LOL.
These days, Joey feels ridiculously lucky to work with his best friend every day. Seriously — how many people get to laugh for a living with their ride-or-die?
Recapping true crime cases and bringing attention to these stories is something he doesn’t take lightly.
His hope is that with every episode, we can laugh together, cry together, and stretch our capacity for empathy. Because there’s power in numbers — and if we’re all looking out for each other, that’s a step toward real change.
