He’s been on Broadway, performed for four US Presidents, and has had recurring roles on network TV, solo comedy specials, hosted/produced reality television, a WGA scribe of film and sitcoms, award winning producer and is a best selling author.
Craig Shoemaker began his showbiz career doubling as a bartender and comedy emcee, while putting himself through Temple University in his hometown of Philadelphia, before taking his talents to Tinsel Town in 1988. His first Hollywood break was playing the role (twice) as an entertainment reporter on ABC’s “Matlock,” where he worked alongside his childhood idols, Andy Griffith and Don Knotts. Craig then had the opportunity to guest star opposite fellow Philadelphian Will Smith, as a ghost boxer in a special episode of “Fresh Prince of Bel Air.”
This was only the beginning of what was followed by several successful TV stand-up specials and numerous co-starring roles in feature films and TV. Now “Dr. Shoe” even has a doctorate degree from Cal U of PA, and his best selling book, “LoveMaster’d – A Digital Journey to Love & Happiness,” is critically acclaimed by the likes of Whoopi Goldberg and Dr. Drew Pinsky, inspiring readers worldwide in managing through personal difficulties.
Craig’s latest 90-minute standup special, "Daditude,” aired prime time on SHOWTIME Network and was front page on Netflix. His very first Comedy Central show was voted by viewers as one of the “Top 20″ specials of all time. Summer 2015, he produced and starred in the #1 comedy album on I-Tunes, “The Last Stand (Up).”
Craig’s film, TV and recording credits are extensive. He recurs as Wilson Gromling, the head of the local Pawnee Tea Party, on NBC’s “Parks & Recreation,” had a five episode run on “The Bold & The Beautiful,” was the film professor in Scream 2 and now co-stars as “Bandit” in the movie, “Middle Man.” Craig produced, wrote and starred in the Indy feature, “The LoveMaster,” which won the Los Angeles Independent Film Festival. When the iconic sitcom “Fuller House” was picked up by Netflix, Craig was called to join the writing staff for season two.
A 30-year comedy vet, his unique style has earned him numerous awards, including "Best Male Standup" at the American Comedy Awards on ABC. His work as actor/producer for PRISM, earned Shoemaker two NATAS Emmy awards.
In 2003 he founded LaughterHeals.org, a nonprofit group dedicated to using laughter as a healing modality. After a personal shift in his own life, Craig is now dedicated to humor with PURPOSE!
Most importantly, Craig is happily married to his wife Mika and is father to three sons, Justin, Jared and Jackson, along with toddler daughter Chloe. Yes, the LoveMaster has mastered love and success, but a teen friend of his son sums up this performer’s career, when he nervously approached Craig and said, “Mr. Shoemaker, it’s nice. So cool you’re verified on Twitter.”
Since bursting onto to the NYC comedy scene in 2004 Erik Rivera's name has become synonymous with comedy. His “boy next door” good looks and unique perspective make him one of New York's fastest rising young comedians. His quick wit along with his commanding stage presence charisma and infectious smile make him a favorite act at comedy clubs and colleges throughout the country.
Erik is one of the most requested comedians on both coasts; when in New York he can be found nightly at the Comedy Cellar The Comic Strip Live Comix Broadway Comedy Club and in Los Angeles he calls the Laugh Factory The Ice House and the Hollywood Improv his comedy homes.
Erik’s star is quickly rising! Recently Eva Longoria Parker's production company UnbeliEVAble Entertainment took notice of Erik's talent and approached him about producing a sitcom based on his comedy. LATV’s American Latino which highlights accomplished Latinos in the community will feature him this season as they document his rise to fame. Rivera is a familiar face all over several cable networks as he has appeared numerous times on SiTV Comedy Central and most recently on MTV Tr3s. Erik also starred in the feature film Stand Up 360 along with Caroline Rhea released in theaters across the country. Erik wrote and directed his first award-winning short film The Cyclist last year featuring fellow comedians Ross Bennett and Imagine.
Erik continues to tour colleges and universities nationwide. He also had the privilege of being selected this year by NBC from a nationwide search to represent their network’s Stand-Up for Diversity College Tour!
When not touring or acting Rivera is one of the most requested young Latinos working today. During the 2009 Holiday season he served as the spokesperson for Duracell SmartPower Lab in Times Square interviewing celebrities from Justin Bieber to Academy Award nominated Gabourey Sidibe. The SmartPower Lab used human power to light the 2010 numeral during the world famous New Year's Eve festivities. In February of 2010 The National Hispanic Media Coalition invited Erik to be their special guest performer at their annual Impact Awards Gala which honored Oscar Nunez (The Office) and Rico Rodriguez (Modern Family). He has also appeared at The Latino Laugh Festival along side Carlos Mencia to a packed house at The Kodak Theatre in Hollywood. In both 2008 and 2009 Erik was honored to be the only comedian to perform two consecutive years for The Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute at the Warner Theater in Washington DC.
