Joey Villagomez, born and raised on Chicago’s South Side has been performing stand up comedy for 10 years. He is a staple on the Chicago comedy scene and is rising fast! He was featured in the HBO Latino specials Habla and Habla Mas en Chicago that aired in September of 2010. He participated in the 2011 and 2012 TBS Just For Laughs Festival, featured on Paul Rodriguez’s 2013 Latin Kings of Comedy Tour and recently performed on The Second City/NBC Universal’s Break Out Comedy Festival in 2016 and 2017. Joey has also performed for national events that include the U.S. Census Bureau, State Farm Insurance National Diversity Conference and received recognition from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security for his support and participation in the 2012 Hispanic Heritage Month Celebration. He has shared the stage with comedy stars such as Paul Rodriguez, T.J. Miller, Drew Carey, Hannibal Buress and 2010 Last Comic Standing winner, Felipe Esparza. Joey conveys the humor in both the bizarre and the ordinary with universal appeal. He shares stories on everything from family problems to relationships to raising children at a very young age. His stories of growing up in a not-so typical Mexican household are hysterical! Inspired by many comedy legends like Red Foxx, George Carlin, Richard Pryor, Martin Lawrence and Eddie Murphy, Joey says there’s nothing in the world he’d rather be doing than making people laugh!
