EVENT CANCELLED: The Heavyweight Comedy Showdown

The SHOWDOWN is a comedy competition hosted by Terry Dorsey.  We source the best talent in the Bay Area to bring you the best comics to to do battle on the Showdown stage. No more "crowd applause" we use all digital, by the numbers system. The winner not only takes the cash but are also added to the Heavyweight Comedy Championship belt. All the winners from that belt will compete in the Championship "Battle for the Belt" happening this fall.

Past participants of this competition have gone on to work with some of the biggest names in entertainment, appeared on national T.V. and are well on there way to being the next weekend headliner. Come help create the next Showdown Champion, they might become your new favorite comic...

Terry Dorsey is a comedian and actor from Illinois. He has also performed as "Shady" in a solo act and as part of the comic duo "Tu Shay De." His style of comedy leans more towards storytelling with added social commentary. He started his career on Chicago's south side being trained by some of today's top working comics. His first T.V. appearance as a stand-up was in 2000 on BET's Comicview, but he has also appeared on Jamie Foxx's Laffapalooza. Terry was also part of the development team that launched the "Laff Zone Comedy Club" in the Chicago suburb of Markham.
