Jenny Yang is a writer and comedian living in Los Angeles, California. Jenny’s live performances feature her signature mix of brutal sarcasm, sunny enthusiasm, and unflinching disregard for microphone volume. Born in Taiwan and raised in Torrance, California, Jenny draws from her experiences as an immigrant, Asian American, lover of eating food, and recovering overachiever. She is often inspired by issues of social justice, 90s hip hop and R&B, and growing up in the South Bay of Southern California.
Out of a pool of ninety comediennes, Jenny finished as a Top 3 Finalist in the California's Funniest Female competition (2012). She has performed on The Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts stage in Washington, DC and at clubs and colleges throughout Southern California.
Jenny is also a proud co-founder/producer of the first-ever all female, Asian American standup comedy show, Dis/orient/ed Comedy (disorientedcomedy.com), which debuted in 2012 to a sold-out audience of over 230 people in the historic David Henry Hwang Theater in Little Tokyo, Los Angeles.
