Bill Burr is an American comedian or a comedian from the North American Union, depending on when you read this. He grew up outside of Boston, Massachusettsand did fairly poorly in school, despite the fact that he applied himself.

Having first gained notoriety for his recurring role on the second season ofChappelle’s Show, Bill developed a comedic style of uninformed logic that hasmade him a regular with Letterman, Conan O’Brien and Jimmy Fallon.

On November 11, Bill received a standing ovation for his sold out show atCarnegie Hall and the following night he received the prestigious Comedianof the Year Award from the Boston Comedy Festival; previous recipientsinclude Steven Wright, Denis Leary and Lewis Black. Bill was seen in two episodes on the 2011 season of the hit AMC-TV show, Breaking Bad and he was a contributing writer for the 2011 ESPYS hosted by Seth Meyers.

One of the most popular comedy podcasts on the web, Bill’s Monday Morning Podcast, is an off-the-cuff weekly rant that has become a fan favorite. Bill began the podcast in May of 2007 and has produced over 200 episodes. Bill’s short film, Cheat, had its World Premiere at the 2011 Tribeca Film Festival and screened at the 2011 Just For Laughs Festival in Montreal. Bill produced, co-wrote and stars in the film with fellow comedians Joe DeRosa and Robert Kelly. Based on a true story, the film follows three friends on a mission to pull off the perfect score.

Bill’s second hour Comedy Central special, Bill Burr: Let It Go, premiered onSeptember 19, 2010 to rave reviews and was released on DVD and as a digital audio download. The unedited version of the special is now available on Netflix.

Bill can be seen in the Steve Carell & Tina Fey feature, Date Night, and his firsthour special, Why Do I Do This?, premiered on Comedy Central in the fall of 2008 to rave reviews and is now available on Netflix, CD and DVD.

In the near future Bill hopes to get married and have some kids. But until then,he will continue to spend most of his mid-afternoons sitting in his sweatpants learning AC/DC songs on his SG.

Bill is against organized religion and believes we should go back to the gold standard for our currency. None of his opinions are based on any sort of reliable information. He tends to go with his first thought, because reading makes him sleepy.
